A probe into potential misconduct by state law enforcement officers continues, as one state trooper has been put on paid leave for reportedly giving marijuana to civilians to smoke in front of him. A police training program relating to the drug charges has also been temporarily shut down, according to department representatives.
The reaction from enforcement officials comes just a week after activists with the Occupy Minneapolis movement released video supposedly documenting police officers providing drugs to civilians as part of the training program. That effort was designed to help officers identify people who were using drugs, according to investigators. State officials say they had not found any misconduct, though the case was re-opened after an officer came forward to confirm the allegations.

Earlier this week, a young local man found out that driving after having only a few drinks can carry weighty consequences after he was charged in connection with a late-night accident. The man probably had only four to five drinks before getting behind the wheel, according to blood alcohol content charts, an amount that some drivers might find reasonable. However, the man now faces serious charges because of the drunk-driving claim.
A 22-year-old St. Paul man has been arrested on drunk-driving charges after he lost control of his car and crashed into another vehicle early last week, according to official reports.
